I love the concept and feel of this vid. It’s Jean Grae with her clip for the track Love Thirst produced by 9th Wonder. It’s a nice little lazy track and I’m digging it. I have to say, I’m not feeling much hip-hop these days (I’ve evolved), but track is decent enough to through on a playlist I guess. For me, that constitutes high praise, plus I’ve always liked Jean’s style. Peace to The Smoking Section for the link.

  1. This video has definitely been doing the rounds. Thought I saw where she didn’t want the video put out, but you know how that goes if that were true. Now I’m curious of this evolution of yours. Care to expound? 🙂

  2. Well, I must be getting old because I can’t take the sound and rhyming conventions of most hip-hop today (or even R&B for that matter). I’m talking the standard Hot 97 type Hip-Hop and R&B and the 106 and Park crapppppp. I’ve moved on. I’m not knocking anyone that listens to today’s music but I can’t do it anymore.

I’ll listen to The Roots, MF Doom, Radiohead, Coldplay and such. There’s a little bit more variety to what I’ll put up with these days. I’m in transition really. Maybe not evolved fully yet.

  3. I’m with you except for the fact that I don’t consider ANYTHING of the radio or 106 & park Hip Hop. It’s (c)rap! Roots, Doom, Jean Greazy, De La, KRS, etc are truly Hip Hop. Hot 97 and the like are part of what’s wrong in music nowadays, but that’s a rant for another time. And there’s nothing wrong with expanding your musical palette. There’s good stuff out there out. I love real Hip Hop, but I also dig on Jazz & Soul. I dabble in other stuff too, but those are my mainstays.

  4. And really, we are all (hopefully) constantly evolving. 🙂
